넥서스원, 구글 공식 개발폰으로 선정!

그 동안 구글의 안드로이드 개발폰은 G1 및 매직이 있었는데요, 이번에 넥서스원이 공식 개발폰으로 추가가 되었습니다. 개발폰으로 등록 된다는 의미는 기본적으로 언락된 상태로 판매를 하는 것이구요, 개발에 대한 지원도 포함 되는 것입니다. 지금까지는 구글의 공식 개발폰은 구글 안드로이드 사이트에서 온라인 판매를 했었는데요, 이번에는 HTC 온라인 스토어에서 529$에 판매를 개시 했습니다.

사실, 넥서스원이 구글 공식 개발폰으로 선정된 것의 가장 큰 의미는, 10월에 있을 안드로이드 3.0 즉, 진저브레드 개발의 표준 도구가 되었다는 겁니다. 현재 시중에 나와있는 대부분의 안드로이드폰이 2.1까지 업데이트 되었으며, 2.2 버전으로의 업데이트를 앞두고 있는데요, 3.0으로의 업데이트는 사실상 힘든 상태 입니다. 3.0 버전 채택에 있어 현재 또는 앞으로 나올 단말들의 하드웨어 스펙은 충분히 충족이 될 수있으나, 대부분의 제조사들이 그들만의 UI를 탑재 했기에, UI/UX에 있어서는 정말 힘든 작업이 될 것입니다.

즉, 앞으로 3.0버전을 채택한 안드로이드폰은 신규 모델이 될 것입니다. 단, 넥서스원은 예외가 됩니다. 넥서스원이 3.0 버전의 표준 도구가 되기 때문이죠. 안드로이드 어플리케이션 개발을 준비 중이신 개인 개발자 분이시라면, 3.0 버전까지 지원되는 넥서스원을 구매 하시는 것이 가장 좋은 선택이 될 것으로 보입니다. 물론, 내년 초까지 3.0 이하 버전이 대부분을 차지 하고 있겠지만, 올해 구매 하고, 내년에 3.0 단말 사용자들을 위한 개발을 위해 또 구매를 하시는 것은 개인 개발자에게는 금전적 부담이 클 것입니다. 구글 안드로이드의 표준인 넥서스원으로 구글의 지원과 재미를 한 번에 느껴 보시는 것이 어떨까요?

Google announced today that it has unlocked the Nexus One as its new Developer Phone. This comes at a price of $529. 

"The Nexus One combines an up-to-the-minute platform (Android 2.2), modern hardware, and the pure Android software suite," says Android's Tim Bray. "It's a good choice both for people who want to build Android applications using either the SDK or the NDK, and those who want to experiment with modified versions of the Android platform. Note that the Nexus One still ships with Android 2.1 but will download 2.2 soon after you turn it on; make sure you're near a fast network."

"As well as being an outstanding developer platform, it's a really nice everyday phone; we're really happy to have connected the right dots to make this happen," he adds. 

Google recently announced that it was discontinuing the Nexus One, after the failure of its web store, but the phone as a device has generally been held in pretty high regard. 

Developers will have to sign in to their Android developer accounts to get more details about getting their phones. Bray does note that accessories for it are available in HTC's European online store.
